Weight loss is one of the most common reasons clients come to Intuitive Hypnosis of Portland. It’s often the “last resort” for those who have tried diet after diet either having great but short term success, or, no success at all. They ask what my success rate is and I tell them that regardless of my success rate, they can increase the odds of their success if the following statements are true for them.

  • I am willing to change my behavior to achieve my health and fitness goals.
  • I am willing to give up the benefits of being overweight.
  • I have a plan and I’m ready to implement it; or, I would like your advice about developing a plan that will work for me.
  • I am willing to clean out my cupboards and purge any foods that are not part of my new eating habits.
  • I am willing to participate in some kind of exercise routine at least 5 days/week, forever.
  • I want to be healthy and fit, and I will do what it takes to achieve that goal.

Hypnosis is not a magic bullet. As your hypnotherapist I facilitate the changes you want in your life, but YOU are the one creating the change. If you are tired of the repetitive cycle of dieting, losing weight, getting excited and then losing momentum, gaining back the weight, feeling depressed and guilty and then starting it all over again, hypnosis can help you.

By understanding how the subconscious mind works you will gain a new appreciation for your efforts at weight loss, and more importantly, you will stop feeling like a failure and beating yourself over the head for not being able to stick to your plan. Neuroscientists tell us that 95-99% of our daily activity is run by the subconscious mind! We truly are creatures of habit.

Using hypnosis is a safe and effective way to re-program your subconscious mind to respond to life in a manner that is in YOUR best interest. We’d like to believe that simply knowing about the programming in our subconscious mind would result in self correction, but it doesn’t work that way. We have to enter the subconscious mind, via hypnosis, and then tell it what we want it to do.

Using hypnosis to aid in weight loss can make attaining your health and fitness goals a quick, pleasurable, and long lasting experience. And once you know how to use hypnosis for weight loss, you can apply the same method to make changes in any other part of your life.
